How will flood quantities of storm water bypass the flood plains to reach the sea?
The Army Corps of Engineers proposes to relieve flooding in Mamaroneck, NY with a 24 ft diameter bore hole tunnel – sort of a giant U-trap under the Village.
If applied to the Byram River, this giant machine would drop vertically into bedrock at Comly Ave, and surface somewhere south of Port Chester Harbor in Long Island Sound.
